COAPS Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies, The Florida State University - COAPS (coaps.fsu.edu) - A center of excellence performing interdisciplinary research in ocean-atmosphere-land-ice interactions to increase our understanding of the physical, social, and economic consequences of climate variability. The DOMS project is being led by Shawn R. Smith (PI) and Mark A. Bourassa (Co-I) and supported by software developers in the Marine Data Center (MDC) at COAPS. The MDC specializes in collecting, quality evaluating, and distributing marine meteorological and surface oceanographic data from in situ and remote sensing platforms, with a focus on oceanographic research vessels and ocean-vector winds satellites. The MDC is the DOMS host node for the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS).
ncar logo National Center for Atmospheric Research – NCAR (ncar.ucar.edu) - A federally funded research and development center devoted to service, research and education in the atmospheric and related sciences. NCAR's mission is to understand the behavior of the atmosphere and related Earth and geospace systems; to support, enhance, and extend the capabilities of the university community and the broader scientific community, nationally and internationally; to foster the transfer of knowledge and technology for the betterment of life on Earth. The DOMS project at NCAR is led by Steve Worley (PI) and software developers in the Computational and Information Systems Lab. NCAR is the DOMS host for the International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS).
nasa jpl NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology – JPL (www.jpl.nasa.gov) - The JPL team contributing to DOMS is led by Thomas Huang (PI), Vardis Tsontos (Co-I), and Ben Holt (Co-I) and supported by software engineers in the … group. JPL is the host for both the satellite data archives and the Salinity Processes in the Upper Ocean Regional Study (SPURS) data for the DOMS prototype.
