The site was developed by Michael McDonald, Vincent Mtenga, and the Marine Data Center (MDC). The images and near-real-time processing were developed by Julia O’Neill. The data download system was adapted most recently by Amanda Lovett. We thank NASA/JPL and KNMI for sharing these data. We provide these data in a modified format (daily files, with similar formatting for each satellite). The project is being directed by Mark Bourassa, and is related to linking characteristics of surface winds to changes in tropical cyclone intensity.
